I’ve used the tools and processes for creating and disseminating effective messages to customers and supporters. From submitting requests for proposals to managing a project and all the follow-up in-between…having served as both a freelance provider and a client, I understand the needs and expectations of clients.

Experience

As an experienced freelance copywriter I research, conceptualize, and write compelling informational, media, and marketing materials such as web site content, newsletters, press releases, profiles, brochures, and flyers for various businesses and organizations.

As a freelance journalist I research and contribute articles to various publications such as Common Ground Magazine, Tango Diva, Everywhere Magazine, and other publications.

As a communications director I managed deadlines and collaborated with the communications team to develop and disseminate national and local e-newsletters, write web site content, and post content to social networks. In addition to writing and distributing press releases, I and the communications team responded to media inquiries and managed projects with freelance designers and web developers.

As an editor I planned, researched, and wrote feature stories, managed and assigned stories to contributors, edited articles, and worked with the art director to layout copy and art.

As a staff writer for a newspaper and magazine I researched and wrote profiles, features, and accompanying editorial for print and online photo essays, edited articles for the weekly news section and front page, coordinated with staff photographers on acquiring photos for assigned articles, and assisted section editors with magazine production by editing and fact-checking editorial.
